Hey people,
This is my very first blog and i chose to start with something close to my heart....something which I really like. And so I want to rattle about my first love : fantasy.
I don't claim to be a connoisseur of the fantasy genre..but the books which I have read are particularly close to my heart. The books that we read in the childhood had a magical impact on us;impressionable as our minds were. But as we grow, the mind gets gradually cluttered by a googol of ideas and every piece of information that strikes has to undergo through various layers of social, philosophical and spiritual filters.

The end result : the magic is lost.

So when someone asks me about my favorite book,my mind prompts me to say something like "1984" or "The Great Gatsby" but  my heart goes out to "Harry Potter".True enough, books like "1984" are amazing and obviously,"Eragon" and "Harry Potter" seem childish now,but the magic which they created, the sheer purity and wonder can never come back. When we grow,we do appreciate the books in an intelligent way, relating them with real life and drawing intelligent conclusions. But can all this really match the beauty of actually waiting for an owl from Hogwarts on your eleventh birthday?Or to just hope a grand dragon would come flying to you?Or the stubbornness to believe in Santa Claus?
Inquisitiveness is the need of the hour, and being students,it is highly expected from us.Now is the time to be realistic,to shape our aims and systematically channelize our energies to approach them. But I miss my childhood.I miss how  simple things like putting presents in our socks and reading a fantasy novel could have us awestruck, make us so happy that we would clap in joy at the wonder of it.And I so wish sometimes to become bamboozled by fantasy, and become young again and revel in bewitchment!!!
